April 20, Tuesday

Another week of school has started but now I take four subjects. Today at 3:30 we were told to fall out in rain coats and shoes so everyone fell out with just rain coats on. It was kind of windy out and kept blowing our shirts up. It sure was a funny feeling standing there with the wind blowing around under the coat. We were marched over to the gym and given our monthly physical. After we were inspected we had the afternoon off so I played baseball. I played until chow and since chow I've been studying.

I got a letter from you and one from Unk today. We are going to start flying just as soon as the planes get here. The field is about three miles out of town and the planes will just be cubs. I have my physical tomorrow so I'm crossing my fingers. I've just about finished the cookies you sent. I liked the last kind best of all but can't you get a strong box or invent some way to keep them in large pieces. I don't think I'll go to Amarillo this weekend either. It costs too much and I like it here. Besides, I've got millions of letters to write. It was quite cool today and the building we have our classes in is just being finished so there's no heat or lights in it. It is the science building for the school when they get to use it. We're breaking it in for them. It is very nice and modernistic. Venetian blinds in all the rooms and very nice wood works. Well, that's all for now so I'll say good night.

Love, Rae
