Well, you can call me Ace now. Today was my second day of flying. We went out to the airport at 9:15 and my partner went up first. Well, he came back after 45 minutes and then it was my turn. We put gas in the plane before the first flight but not before my flight. We also had to gas the ship after I came down. Well, we taxied out on the filed and turned the ship to the right and left to see if all was clear. Then my instructor told me to take it off. Well, I took off OK and climbed to 400 feet then I made a 90 degree turn to the left and climbed another 100 feet. From there I made a 45 degree turn and then the plane was considered out of the field traffic. Well we went to our area and then I did some turns 90 degrees, 180 degrees and 360 degrees. Next I had to fly a rectangular course around a field. This was hard cause the wind keeps blowing you off your course. I did this for quite a while and then did some figure eights and S turns. Then we started back and I did some coordination movements. That consists of waving your wings and turning your rudder at the same time. We came back to the field and he set it down. We got some literature to read and then we came back at 1145. After chow I have my only study period and this is practically all the time I have to study. At 1430 I have history and at 1530 I have first aid. We had to take our shirts off and find the pressure points. We take PT at 1630 and then eat at 1720. Then so far this week we've had formations for this or that every evening so that lets out studying. I played baseball after supper and even though we lost I did pretty good,. I hit a home run with two men on and got a double and single out of four times at bat. We played the college boys and the final score was too big. 16 - 7.

Well, it's noon and almost time for chow. I took off twice today for we went up first with a low gas tank and the inst. saw the gas truck come in so we went down to get some. Today I did figure eights, S turns, flew a rectangular course, did climbing turns and stalls, also he cut the motor and told me to make a forced landing. We came down to about 50 feet then pulled up again. It sure is fun. I'm getting so I can look around and see what's happening. Well, we're due for a 2 mile run this afternoon. I sure don't enjoy that. We have to GI tonight because some big shot is going to inspect us. Well, I'll close this and try and get it mailed.

Love,
Rae
