Well, you can see that I got the paper and envelopes OK. Now I'm waiting for the clothes. Say, haven't you found out how much that razor cost yet? How was your birthday - did you get anything from me? I tried to call in the evening but no one was home. Tomorrow is father's day and I'll try to call again. In this new flying schedule we have 8 hour flying periods instead of five. We didn't get a day off this week because of the change of schedule. I got a letter from Mae and she said she hadn't heard from you in some time - said she would write. Got a letter from Son too - guess he's home now isn't he? I suppose Robin's down here now - did you get to see him? The first chance we get we're going to fly over the grand canyon. It's only four hundred miles from here so we could make the round trip in five hours easily. We went on a Xcountry the other day up to Las Vegas NM and Alberque or something. The only trouble is we never land. Oh, did I tell you we got our navigator? He's 19 years old and his name is Yolk Lew - he's a swell guy but he seems younger than his age - he's a good navigator and seems to know his stuff. If you didn't guess, he's Chinese. Now we have our radio operator who speaks Russian and our navigator speaks Chinese. Our crew is now complete. Oh yes, I went swimming yesterday. I got out of ground school in the afternoon so I went in. Last night I went into town with Lew and we saw a show and went bowling - in three games I averaged only 133 - I haven't gone in such a long time I guess I couldn't expect much better. Haven't gone golfing lately. Did I tell you I think the skipper's wife is swell? Well, that's about all the news - I sure hope you had a happy birthday.
Love,
Rae
