Dear Folks

As you can easily see I am slumming again. The boys that are going to Stockton got a pass until 8 AM Fri. morning, the rest of the guys had to be back this morning. I spent last Sat. & Sun. in Bakersfield so I thought I would have one last fling at L.A. before I left. Last Monday we had a field day - there was flying competition between squadrons in formation flying and accuracy stages and acrobatics but our squadron didn't win anything. At 10 AM we all got dressed for PT and we played the officers in all sports. About the only thing we won was the baseball game. We went to show at 10 o'clock and they served cold meat, cheese, beans, cold potato salad and beer. Well, we didn't do anything the rest of the day except have retreat at 5 o'clock. Then at 8 PM we had a graduation drill with lots of girls and stuff to eat with more beer - it's too bad I don't drink the stuff. Well, the next morning we had to get up bright and early - 10 AM for the graduation parade. After the parade we had a big feed and then we got our passes. So three of us came down to see the city. We are going out to Hollywood today and will try to get in the canteen tonight. Well, I haven't time to write more now so I'll close.

Love,
Rae
