Boy! Wherever I go rain always follows. It hasn't rained here in Lord knows how many years but today it poured. The clouds that are overhead right now are the blackest I've ever seen. It's just started to pour. There's a lot of lightning but no thunder. We drilled all morning. From 8:30 to 12 o'clock. This afternoon it would shower every few minutes so we went over to the gym and played basketball, handball, or anything else they had. I watched them play basketball for a while then I played some handball. We were issued sheets this afternoon so now we're even more civilized. Tonight after supper I played a game of horse shoes with Jack and then we went over to the gym and took a shower. Our showers will be ready by Friday or Saturday. I shined my three pairs of shoes this afternoon but that didn't take much time. I sent my laundry out today. We haven't received any forwarded mail yet but it ought to come tomorrow. I'm having a heck of a time. I'm all out of envelopes and can't get any until Saturday so I am getting behind in my mailing list. I've got two of yours left and when I send this letter I'll only have one. By the time you get this letter I'll have more. The food here is lousy so any cookies will be welcome. If I have cookies I can miss an occasional meal. I'll be here anywhere from 1 to 5 months. We are divided into five groups according to our grades we made on our tests. Group 1 leaves in 1 month and group 5 leaves in 5 months. When we start we will have an hour of gym and an hour of drill. I have to shave before I go to bed so I better close this now.

Love,
Rae

P.S Has pa gained any weight yet? How are your eyes?
