Well, I haven't got a letter from you in some time so I'll write this to pop instead. You'll have to ask him if you can read it. Well, pa, have they started you on a ten hour shift yet? When you do I'll feel sorry for you for I know what it's like - for the last year I've been on a 16 hour shift seven days a week. I guess you would call me an executive now. I only have an 8 hour shift six days a week, all class, eh? You know pop, now that summer is coming I think you ought to take up golf or fishing or something. You need to get out of doors, get a good sunburn and keep it all summer. If you don't keep active you'll get a bay window and become old before your time. On my first pay day I'm going to send you $100 to buy clubs or fishing stuff or whatever you decide on. No fooling, I really mean it, you have the night shift pallor. You look pretty sharp all except for your pale face - Heap big pace face no good. Drag ma around too, you out to be on your second honeymoon now that you've got no brat to hold you down. Take ma out and get her plastered at least once, she don't know what she's missing. I went into town Sat. night and had a pretty good time. There's nothing to do in this town at all but they do have lots of bars and I don't mean gold ones. A west coast order came out yesterday for all four engine men to stand by. No emergency leaves or any kind of leaves. We can't get a weekend pass for next week but we can go to town. I don't know what's up but I'm not worrying about it. I hope you got moved all OK. Are you staying at Aunt Elsie's for the time being? I sure like this plane - much better than I thought I would. In fact, I'm quite satisfied with it. Tell ma she better write more often or I'll get mad at her. I haven't had a chance to get to Mexico yet but I will before I leave here. Give everyone my love - Oh, you should see the nice tan I'm getting.
Love,
Rae
