Well, I didn't write on Friday or Saturday because I was out of envelopes. Friday we drilled all day and at night we went to a basketball game in the gym. This school is supposed to have the tallest basketball team in the world but we just saw the freshman team play. The boys were all over 6' but they weren't outstanding. Saturday morning we had inspection and then we had all morning off. Saturday afternoon we were divided into our groups. To make it easy they divided into. Everyone whose last name is from A to N is in the first group while N to Z is the second group. Then each group was divided into two squadrons. Group one was divided into A and B squadron while group two was divided into squadrons C and D. Everyone in group A and C had the highest grades. next they divided A and C into flights. Squadron A was divided into flight one and two. I am in one and therefore here for one month. Squadrons B and D were divided into three flights so, in each group there are two squadrons and a total of five flights. Each flight leaves according to its' number, so you have to climb from one flight to another before you leave this place. Jack and I are still together. He got the highest grade on the test, 112. I don't know for sure what I got but I think it was about 90.

This morning I laid around writing letters and loafing. After chow I read some funnies and then went to town with a boy from Texas. Jack went into Amarillo and I didn't want to go there. I don't know the boy's name but everyone calls him Slim. He's about 6'3" tall and weights about 200 lbs. We went to the show and afterward I bought some stationary and we had a malted. We walked all around town and it's a nice place. It's a small town but I think it's rich for it's size. All the houses are small but nice looking. There are lots of trees and nice green grass. The school has a number of new buildings and looks quite nice. In case you might be interested here is my schedule. Up at 6:00, breakfast at 7:00, classes start at 8:00. I have English at 8 and then gym at 9. I have 10 o'clock free and Geog. at 11. We have lunch at 12:50 and then my next class is History at 14:30. I have an hour of drill at 15:30 and then free until supper at 18:20. I don't know when I'll have study hall but I imagine they'll come during my free periods. I don't know anything about books or anything but I guess I'll find out tomorrow. Yesterday I got some nice letters. Three from you, three from Doris, one from Unk, one from Elsie and one from Em. They were all forwarded from San Marcos so that's why I got them all at once. Tell me how much the telephone call costs when you get the bill. I'm afraid it's too much money to spend for so short a time. There's so much to say you don't know where to begin and then you end up by saying nothing at all. It took about an hour and a half to get the call through. I got the Glen Ellyn News forwarded from San Marcos but haven't received the Elm Bark as yet. Doris sends me that all the time so I don't worry about it. Well, I guess that's all for tonight so I'll say goodnight.

Love,
Rae

P.S What should I do to get back in Aunt Evea's good graces?
