Well, it's not only the air mail that's slow but it's me not writing. You make me laugh Pa when you said do they make you go to school on Sunday too. That's the least of our worries. You don't seem to realize just how shity this place really is. I've never been on a post that was worse. We start the day with chow at 6 AM then we don't fall out until 7:45. Allowing a half hour for brakfast we have 1 hr. 15 min to shave, shine and get ready for inspection. During this time we have the most fee time we get all day. Classes until 10:50 then PT at 11:10, twenty minutes to change clothes - I usually have time to get my mail at this time. PT until 12:15 then a half hour until chow. It takes a half hour to get a shower. Chow at 12:45 then flight line at 13:45 - a whole hour to eat, change to flight clothes and read the bulletin board. The bulletin board has the link schedule, gig list, notices and it takes five to ten minutes to read it - depends upon the crowd. We get back from the flight line at 6:15, change clothes and go to chow at 6:45 -we fall out for night classes at 7:45 and finish at 8:30. From 9:30 to 10:30 is free, all ours. Of course we have to draw an air map of the entire Calif. valley for home work. This has to be ready by the 4th and we only get a chance to work on it during our free time. One night a week we don't go to school so I spend all that time on my map. We are going to Yuma positive - the end of this week I think. As soon as ground school is over things won't be so bad but when we go to Yuma we fly on 12 hour shifts. From 12 noon until 12 night. My cold is just about gone - it's been raining for the last two days so my feet have been wet for that long. As for flying home, the army doesn't run a taxi service and charge $1 for a ride. If a plane is going my way and if the pilot will take me all I have to do is rent a chute for $1. Since I'll be an officer and have my own chute, I won't have to rent one. Another thing, you talk too much about what I write in my letters so I'm afraid I'll have to stop writing so much. I tell you lots of things that aren't to be told outside the family - I've told you that before so I guess I'll just have to omit them in the future. Tell aunti I got her letter and will try and write. Half the camp had to GIs today, me included. I'm SOG today so I get to loaf all day. Boy it sure is wet here - rain for the last two days. Well, I guess that's all there is for now so I'll close.
Love,
Rae
P.S There's a rumor that we might get travelling time.
